A Week in Berlin

A  short photo journal of my recommended places to visit in Berlin, Germany.

The Brandenburg Gate

The historical gateway into the streets of Berlin. It carries the Quadriga: a statue of the goddess of victory and her horses.

Sanssouci Palace and Park, Potsdam

Potsdam is a beautiful city, and visiting Frederick the Great’s Sanssouci park has been one of my greatest experiences. With grape vines, fountains, an art gallery, a windmill, a river, a university and a ballroom, this estate has it all.

The architecture, history and gardens are breathtaking, picture-perfect creations.

The Reichstag

Germany’s historic parliamentary building which has lived through revolution, fire and war.

When the Reichstag was re-built after World War Two, the inscriptions of Soviet soldiers were kept.

Frühstücks – Cafe Ostfee

Enjoy delicious food in a relaxed setting.

Museum Island

Stunning artefacts from ancient history, natural history and modern history.  The Deutsches Historisches Museum is home to Napoleon’s hat and sword that he abandoned at Waterloo.

Note: All images are my own.
