Christmas Waterstones Haul

Waterstones on Tottenham Court Road is cosy, peaceful and has a fab little cafe downstairs in the basement. A staff member even brought tea lights around to each table. The small flames flickered in the dim light, and a pile of books quickly formed on the table. History books and biographies lined the basement walls, and I found each of the books I wanted (and some more). I love discovering new Waterstones stores, because each one is unique and different, and is filled with the atmosphere of its location.

Archaeology, Brian Fagan
I’m studying archaeology next semester at uni, so I couldn’t resist this book!

Book themed diary, Jane Mount
I’ve been looking for a 2019 diary for ages, and I couldn’t have found one more perfect than Jane Mount’s Bibliophile 12-month planner!

History of the World, E.H. Gombrich
I saw this gem in the British History Museum bookshop, but bought it when I got to Waterstones so the extra point was added to my card!

Mythos, Stephen Fry
One of my best friends recommended this book to me, and I bought it for my trip to Cyprus next year!

Ekaterinburg, Helen Rappaport
I read Helen Rappaport’s book Four Sisters and absolutely loved it, so I’m excited to read this one next.

What books did you get for Christmas or recently buy? Next time I’m going to buy at least one fantasy novel, thinking of getting The Name of the Wind by Patrick Rothfuss. Have you read it?

Happy New Year!
